August Update

Well August has come and gone and a very quiet month for me. No posts on the blog and no painting done. I did manage to play seven games with Epic Kreoss and the High Reclaimer, winning three of those and my first win with the High Reclaimer.

I have no tournaments planned for the rest of the year at the moment, in fact I should be at Iron Wrath today but couldn’t make it.

So September and I really need to get some painting in !!

July Update

July was a better month for me on the playing side.  With the ETC last month I managed to get in ten games, winning three of these. I am determined that August and the coming months to get a lot more games in.

On the painting side again a lot of progress has been made. I have completed three Wreck Markers and the dismounted Gravus. So started on the Monolith Bearer and the mounted Gravus.

The High Reclaimer – Part 1

Well the game on Thursday with The High Reclaimer did not go well. I got a single soul token all game mainly because I spread the Errants out too far away. In saying the game didn’t go well this was a game I could have won if my dice were a little better. Basically I left Epic Magnus on four wounds.  The clouds did the trick as expected.

So after we got back I started to give the list some thought.  The denial elements of my original list all worked, but I felt the army size was too large. I wanted to take the Errants out and up the Holy Zealots to the maximum. Here is the list I will start practising with. After a few more games I will post some thoughts on the list.

The High Reclaimer (*6pts)
Vanquisher (8pts)
Hierophant (2pts)
Avatar of Menoth (11pts)
Choir of Menoth (Leader and 3 Grunts) (2pts)
Exemplar Bastions (Leader and 4 Grunts) (8pts)
Vessel of Judgement (9pts)
Holy Zealots (Leader and 9 Grunts) (6pts)
Holy Zealot Monolith Bearer (2pts)
Gorman di Wulfe, Rogue Alchemist (2pts)
Orin Midwinter, Rogue Inquisitor (2pts)
The Wrack (3 wracks) (1pts)
Vassal Mechanik (1pts)
Vassal of Menoth (2pts)

I mentioned in a previous post that I wanted to take The High Reclaimer to a tournament. I am looking at Iron Wraith and Scrap Metal later in the year. So these posts on The High Reclaimer will be a series of posts leading up to my first tournament appearance with this caster. Lets see how I go!

What’s next?

After painting Exemplar Errants plus UA and Sceneschal, followed by the Daughters of the Flame and Nicia I need a change of pace. All of these needed painting in time for the ETC last week, so needless to say it was a bit of a rush at times.

What is next? A solo I think, something I can spend some time over. Now my Epic Kreoss list needs some attention to bring it up to fully painted standard, and this brings me onto High Exemplar Gravus. This miniature works well with all the Exemplar miniatures in the Kreoss list. But more importantly it provides an anti knock down ability for all these Exemplars, the Covenant is in the Thyra list for character restriction purposes.

So High Exemplar Gravus it is. But before I make a start I need to finish the three wreck markers I have started, this isn’t going to take long so expect some updates on Gravus in the comings weeks.

2012 First 50 Games

So here we have my first 50 games of Warmachine this year. The months of Jan, Feb, May and June were very quiet on the gaming side. However in March it went mental and I played a massive 26 games. Of these 50 games I won a lowly 13, however that is 26%, which is an improvement on last year. Lets see what the next 50 games bring this year, its already started with 3 straight wins.

The High Reclaimer

I have a new Warcaster painted and ready for the gaming table “The High Reclaimer”. After playing Epic Kreoss a lot this year and Thyra at the ETC, I wanted a change of pace and a new challenge. So I opted for the The High Reclaimer a while back. Another reason for the choice is you don’t see this Warcaster being played at all at tournaments, and there is the challenge. Can I take this rarely seen Warcaster to a tournament and do well?

Whilst painting the Errants over the past couple of months I took a few weekends out and started painting this miniature. Finally finishing it this week. Its had its final finish of Dull Cote yesterday.

Another miniature I haven’t played with a lot recently is the “Vessel of Judgement”. So I want to build a list with this Battle Engine along with this Warcaster. At the moment I have some ideas for a list, but nothing in concrete.

I want to try a list with a lot of denial. For example the Errants, Holy Zealots and the Avatar can’t be targeted by spells. Other Warjacks can also have this ability via the Choir.

Then there are the clouds that this Warcaster can put down to protect against ranged attacks. So this evening we are off to Maelstrom for some gaming, lets see how it goes!

European Team Challenge 2012 – Sunday

Sunday and another early start for a 9:45 game. We were matched up against team “Full Retard” and I faced Mercenaries, sorry again forgot my opponents name.

I only just won my game with a single control point, with only Thyra and Vilmon remaining on the table. My opponent was very unlucky and didn’t get a miniature in base contact with a flag and dice down was called. Thyra parked her self on the flag he needed to control and luckly survived when dice down was called.

My entire unit of Bastions were raped in a single turn with Rocinante and Captain Damiano’s Warpath spell. But thinking back on this part of the game, I was astonished a Warjack could destroy a unit like this in one turn. So checked the rules for Warpath, and found that it can only move once per turn and I am sure the Warjack moved at least three times. But a win is a win, and we as a team also won.

One of the big talking points of the weekend were the amount of Stormwall’s and what effect they would have on the tournament. In a single list environment like the ETC some players where at a disadvantage, not having a list to combat these. But then its a team event so along as someone in the team can combat the Stormwall then I don’t see and issue, unlike some. This picture was taken over Sunday lunch of some of the Stormwalls at the event.

Before we go onto the last game of the event, I would like to mention one of our team mates Marc who was playing Cryx. He had won all five of his tournament games at this point, and have accumulated a lot of control points. So we helped Marc with an easy match up to aid his quest in getting best in faction for Cryx. But our opponents played their team feat and swapped the original opponent to a Menoth player.  This Menoth player was also in line for getting best in faction. Marc eventually went on the lose this game, by only two army points. The Menoth player went on to win best in faction, but Marc lost out on best in faction for Cryx. Had he killed three more points in the final game it would have been a much different story.

So onto the last game of the event we played “Team Netherlands” and I was put up against a Skorne player, this time with Molik Karn. And “Yes” I lost this game to a Molik Karn assasination run. I thought I had Molik covered and most of his army was tied up with Errants and Daughters, so I was ready for my assasination run next turn. But it wasn’t to be. The team also lost this final game, so we went 3 and 3 for the tournament and ended up in 39th place out of 54 teams.

In the individual rankings for the tournament I finished in 134th out of 216 players and won three of my six games. Very happy with this, finishing around mid table. More control points would have moved me higher up the rankings. The top player on three wins was 80th, so there is some improvement I can make here (win more control points!).

This picture taken at this year’s ETC sums up the event perfectly. This was exactly how I feeled at the end of the weekend, completely knackered. To much drink and plenty of gaming, some might say not enough! Each day was a long tiring day, but so much fun!

But given the tiredness at the end of the weekend I would not have missed this tournament, it was absolutely brilliant.

Sorry Dave I simply had to post this picture!

So onto next year’s ETC and this time myself and Tyler will hopefully be getting a team together from some friends who attend Maelstrom gaming evenings.

European Team Challenge 2012 – Friday/Saturday

Well the European Team Challenge is done and dusted for 2012, and what an event it was. We had a brilliant three days gaming, plenty of laughs and some cracking games.

The event was a 216 player, 54 team tournament. By far the largest single Hordes and Warmachine tournament in Europe, if not the world.

We started on Friday arriving around midday. After finding the rest of our team my self and Tyler got our stuff ready and had a practise game. Followed by burger and chips before we started the first game around seven in the evening.

The team consisted of myself and my Menoth, Tyler and his Tier 4 Magnus list, Eliot the captain taking two Stormwalls and Marc taking Cryx. I took Thyra primarily to face any Hordes factions out opponents took, as she loves playing against Hordes.

So onto game 1 and I faced Gard from team “Dooley’s Disciples” from Norway. I faced Haley with a Stormwall and a Storm Strider. Not a good match up for myself, but the opposing team only took Warmachine factions. This could not have been a more difficult match up for me. Gard cast Temporal Barrier every turn, and continued to shoot my army. Needing to do something I managed to get Thyra into the Storm Strider, not knowing that she was going to be pushed back two inches after the first attack. So Gard then killed Thyra and game over! We all had a great time playing Dooley’s Disciples who had brought along a bottle of Dooley’s to drink before, during and after the game. Gard also made the Stormwall pod’s from miniature Dooley’s bottles, and when one was destroyed we had to drink the Dooley’s. Needless to say I drank a few! The team lost this round, now surprises as “Dooley’s Disciples” are a very good group of players.

Saturday morning and game 2 and we faced team “Let the Wookie Win“, a UK based team. This time a lot better match up against Andrew and his Trollbloods. I had seen Andrew at a couple of tournaments in the past, but we had never played until now. The picture on the left was taken during this game (don’t know who took it, I found it on the net). Andrew knew how to play against Thyra leaving Jarl well out of her threat range. It didn’t help when I lost Corbeau early in the game. So I had to push for the win. Unfortunately leaving Thyra exposed, so another lose to me. Excellent game and hope to play Andrew again in the future. We won this round, so up the tournament rankings we went.

Onto lunch and it was time for the judges to look at the armies for the best painted. I didn’t bother putting my army out, even though others like my painting there are a lot of better painters at the event. So didn’t have any expectations. However the same person who took the picture above also took the picture of my army whilst on the tray. My painting needs a lot of improvements before I would consider getting near winning best painted at a tournament like this.

So game 3 after lunch and we faced “Team Red Dragon“, another group of lads from the UK. I can’t remember my opponents name (sorry), however I faced Dominar Rasheth without Molik Khan (yippee I hate that miniature). My opponent was again very wary of Thyra with me playing her aggressively up the field. Always measuring Rasheth’s control area to keep Thyra out of his control area. But he forgot about Corbeau and the extra 3 inches that Thyra can use to get nearer. Needless to say Thyra charged and one charge attack and a second boosted attack later I had won the game. However the team lost this round.

This brings me onto something which I feel is worth mentioning. When my opponent asks me “What is Thyra threat range?” in a tournament I always reply with “She can charge 10 inches“. This happened a lot over the weekend, and I always feel a bit awkward with this reply. However I believe that this is her threat range. She can only use her feat for the extra 2 inches of movement once per game. However this does not mean that these extra 2 inches of movement will be forward it may be she needs to move sideways. Therefore because the extra 2 inches may be a sideways move, then I believe when saying “she can charge 10 inches” is not cheating my opponent. The same applies to the extra 3 inches of movement that Corbeau may or may not provide, plus my opponent is not asking what the threat range is with all the extra’s. Of course there are other ways to extend Thrya’s threat range, a Warjack could push her an inch, also there is her spell Pursuit which she could be move an extra 7 inches. So I believe my reply of 10 inches is correct in a tournament setting.

Last game on Saturday and we are up against another team from Norway “The Dark Ponies“. The plan was going well today and I faced another Hordes faction with Mikkel and his Circle. Another Thyra caster kill and another team win. So we were to end Saturday on two wins. This game ended very very awkwardly, with my opponent not correctly measuring a charge attack and in doing so moved Thyra more then a inch. This very much highlights the fact that don’t move a miniature until both players are in agreement that the move is valid. I did not agree that the Warbeast was within 12 inches of the Warlock and had Thyra within melee range. I won’t go into the details, but I hate to see moving tape measures and shoddy measuring. Just checking the measurement at the end of the tape measure when the point you are measuring from has moved any inch away from the miniature is not on.

So Saturday evening was spent at Maelstrom Games until midnight, we had a BBQ and plenty of drinks during the day and into the evening. We were also introduced to a card game “Terrorist Top Chumps” and what a laugh we had with that. So what will Sunday bring?

European Team Challenge 2012 – The Day Before

Well the European Team Challenge 2012 starts tomorrow. We are hoping to get to Maelstrom around midday for a couple of practise games before the event commences in the evening.

Still sticking to my original Thyra list that I put together for the event. I did think about changing things and including another Warjack the Vanquisher, but felt that in doing so took away other key elements of the list.

On the gaming side I am hoping to win three or more of my six tournament games. I don’t want to let my other team mates down, so will be playing each game to win and not to accidently throw it away. So here is the list I will be taking.

Thyra, Flame of Sorrow (*6pts)
Reckoner (8pts)
Hierophant (2pts)
Choir of Menoth (Leader and 3 Grunts) (2pts)
Daughters of the Flame (Leader and 5 Grunts) (5pts)
Exemplar Bastions (Leader and 4 Grunts) (8pts)
Exemplar Errants (Leader and 9 Grunts) (8pts)
Exemplar Errant Officer & Standard Bearer (2pts)
Visgoth Juviah Rhoven & 2 Honor Guard (4pts)
Exemplar Errant Seneschal (2pts)
Madelyn Corbeau, Ordic Courtesan (2pts)
Nicia, Tear of Vengeance (3pts)
Rhupert Carvolo, Piper of Ord (2pts)
Saxon Orrik (2pts)
The Covenant of Menoth (2pts)
The Wrack (3 wracks) (1pts)
Vassal Mechanik (1pts)
Vassal of Menoth (2pts)

Reinforcements

Knights Exemplar (Leader and 5 Grunts) (5pts)
High Paladin Dartan Vilmon (3pts)
Paladin of the Order of the Wall (2pts)

European Team Challenge 2012 – Part 3

Only two days to go! The painting of Daughters of the Flame and Nicia Tears of Vengeance is complete! I had two practise games tonight and things didn’t go very well. I lost both games, one against Phil and his Stormwall Cygnar list and the other against Tyler’s Epic Magnus list.

I realised tonight that I haven’t played with Thyra for the last three month, the last game was at the back end of March. It seems I have been playing with Epic Kreoss too much, and found myself missing the feat turn.

So Wednesday evening my time will be spent re-familiarising myself with the spells and abilities of my list. Thursday evening and all day Friday will be practise games. I am hoping to get in at least five games before the start of the event.

European Team Challenge 2012 – Part 2

Now only five days to go! The painting of Daughters of the Flame and Nicia Tears of Vengeance is progressing well and on target. I am hoping to get most of the painting complete on these miniatures over this weekend.

There has been a change on the team, I am now playing Thyra Flame of Sorrow. I have had some recent good results in tournaments with Thyra, so happy with that.

Still unsure if we will be playing in the “International Hardcore” event being played on the Friday before the event starts in the evening. However we will be there around mid day, early afternoon for some practise before the event commences.

2012 New Year Resolution Progress

Lets see how I am getting on with my new year resolutions?

1. Play at least 175 games of Warmachine during the year. Not a chance, don’t even expect to play 150.

2. Improve my Warmachine 20% win ratio. Yes it has improved so far. Of the 45 games I have played this year I have won 13, so that is 29%. Therefore on average I would expect to win 2 games in a 6 game tournament.

3. Improve my UK Warmachine ranking on Rankings HQ. I started 123rd and currently at 92nd. So its an improvement.

4. Play in at least 12 Warmachine tournaments. So far including the ETC I will have played in 5 tournaments. I have planned another 3 over the next six months.

5. Fill my KR Multicase with painted Protectorate of Menoth miniatures. The case is full with only one space for a singe small base miniature. Still got a load of miniatures to paint. I am going to need another case!

6. Improve the paint quality of my Protectorate of Menoth miniatures. Not really had a chance to do this. Been busy painting Exemplar Errants!

7. Post more often of my blog, especially more pictures. Not really posted more often, lets see if I can change this.

European Team Challenge 2012 – Part 1

With seven days to go until the European Team Challenge event I have eventually settled on a list. Only the Daughters of the Flame and Nicia Tears of Vengeance need to be painted. Now painting these means that I need to concentrate on painting at least every one of these seven days.

At the moment all are primed and have been given the first base coat of Menoth White and have started on the Menoth White Highlight. If I manage a couple of hours each and every day I should be able to complete this unit and solo. Both play a key role in the list, so really need to get these painted.

On the gaming side I had a practise game on Tuesday against Tyler and his Magnus Tier 4 list, the list which he is taking to the event. We played the “Outflank, Outfight, Outlast” scenario, so that we could finalise the reinforcements which we would be using. This is the first scenario at the event, so we needed to get familiar with it. I did win this game by Caster kill, although I did find that I tend to take a long time on each turn which was eating into my chess clock time of 64 minutes.

The event also includes the “Incursion” and “Close Quarter” scenarios which we have played a lot, so don’t need to practise these. However the scenarios “Demolition”, “Command and Control” and “A Flag too Far” are all scenarios which we are not familiar with, so these are going to need playing at least once before next Friday.

There is an additional “International Hardcore” event being played on the Friday before the event starts in the evening. We are still considering if to play this. It could be a very long and tiring day, if we play 4 or 5 games of Hardcore and then the first round of the ETC in a day, so we will see.

June Update

June was another very slow month on the playing side. I only played two games all month against Tyler and his Mercenaries, winning one of these games.

On the painting side a lot of progress has been made. The Exemplar Errants, Unit Attachment and Errant Scenschal are all complete. I have started on the Daughters of the Flame and Nicia, these have to be painted in time for the European Team Challenge next weekend.

300

This is my 300th post on the blog. I started blogging on my war gaming back in January 2009. I see this blog as “my online scrapbook” for my war gaming and painting hobby.

Since the start of this blog my war gaming has evolved from painting and playing Warhammer Fantasy. On the painting side I also painted a Warhammer 40K Imperial Guard small force, and the Mines of Moria box set.

Then back in June 2010 I started playing Warmachine. Since than I have only played and painted Protectorate of Menoth for Warmachine. All of my Games Workshop miniatures are now all sold to fund my Warmachine addiction.

In January 2011 I started a Flames of War, US 101st Airbourne army. These miniatures are still in the box, with only a few assembled. May be one day I will get these painted. But at the moment its all Warmachine.

I can’t see myself playing or painting anything but Protectorate of Menoth for Warmachine in the near future. I want to start a Hordes faction (probably Legion of Everblight), but with the releases for Warmachine coming thick and fast I can’t see myself finding the time. I have plenty of Protectorate of Menoth miniature to paint, which will see me to the end of the year. Then next we have the Colossals!

So onto the next 300 posts!

Exemplar Errants Painted (At Last!)

Eventually the Exemplar Errants are painted.  I started these miniatures back at the start of March, this gives you an idea of how slow I paint.

The European Team Challenge also aided in getting these painted in time, as this is a fully painted tournament. Now I have less than two weeks to paint the Daugthers and Nicia!

European Team Challenge 2012

Next Friday I will be at Maelstrom Games attending the Hordes and Warmachine European Team Challenge 2012. It is a 224 player team tournament, consisting of 56 teams each with 4 players. I am part of Team Epic Slayer, a last minute replacement.

Each player has a single 50 point list. This must be legal using the normal 50 point single caster/lock restrictions. In addition each player needs 10 points of reinforcements (subject to SR2012 army composition rules). The lists across a team are character restricted. That is, no characters can appear in more than one list. This includes Prime and Epic versions of a Warcaster or Warlock and any other unique model.

I will be taking an Epic Kreoss list, full of Daughters, Knights, Errants, Bastions and the mandatory Reckoner along with the usual solos and support.

Its going to be a brilliant weekend.

Exemplar Bastions = Colossal Killers

The Exemplar Bastions are a unit some people deem not worthy to be in a list. I on the other hand have always liked them. Now that I have Errants (just) and Knights painted I thought that the Bastions would be kept in the miniature case. This was until Colossal were announced.

With the new Colossal model now appearing on the scene, players need to be able to take one down. This is where the Exemplar Bastions are back in the game.

With Blessed weapons by all means put Arcane Shield on your Stormwall, because this unit will ignore that!

Of course the Bastions need a little more help to take down a Colossal. This is where Epic Kreoss comes into play, now the Bastions have two attacks on the feat turn.

So I did some analysis using a good old spreadsheet and some random numbers. On average the Bastions charging a Stormwall under Epic Kreoss’s feat can take down the Colossal in one turn!

May Update

May was a very slow month on the playing side. I only played a single game all month against Tyler and his Mercenaries. The target of 175 games I wanted to play this year is well and truely out of my reach, even going to struggle to play 150 games.

On the painting side, I still have the Errants on the painting table. Been slow on the painting as well as playing. It seems I lost steam in getting the Errants painted, I think I burnt myself out and lost all motivation to get these done.

Exemplar Errants on the Painting Table (9 Weeks)

The Exemplar Errants have been on the painting table now for nine weeks. All of the miniatures have been based coated and the bases are nearly done. The shields are also nearly done. got the crossbows still to do.

Not picked up the paint brush this week, so one more week of my planned ten weeks to go. Still have some shading and highlighting to do and some tidying up.

Next its going to be the Daughters of the Flame and Nicia, Tear of Vengeance.

Steamroller 2012 – Grand Exemplar Kreoss

Lists in Steamroller 2012 are very different for me than last year. Firstly I have a lot more painted, and planning on getting even more painted. Secondly the character restrictions and reinforcements have meant I have had to shuffle my lists around. So onto my choice of warcasters which are Grand Exemplar Kreoss, Thyra, Flame of Sorrow and Hierarch Severius. Thyra is mainly my anti Hordes list, I have had a lot of joy with Thyra against Hordes factions. But onto my first list and Grand Exemplar Kreoss.

Grand Exemplar Kreoss is the warcaster I have been playing the most with recently, so this list is more set in concrete more than the others. I mainly wanted a high number of weapon masters in this list. The Daughters of the Flame aren’t weapon masters, but they do benefit from the feat. I nearly opted for another unit of Knights Exemplar, but included High Paladin Dartan Vilmon and a Paladin of the Order of the Wall for taking control of flags. High Exemplar Gravus is included for some anti-knockdown with the Covenant being restricted. Finally two character solos. Eiryss, Angel of Retribution and Rhupert Carvolo, Piper of Ord. Eiryss for stripping focus of a warcaster and disruption, and Rhupert for giving out tough and pathfinder.

50 Points

Grand Exemplar Kreoss (*6pts)
Reckoner (8pts)
Choir of Menoth (Leader and 3 Grunts) (2pts)
Daughters of the Flame (Leader and 5 Grunts) (5pts)
Exemplar Errants (Leader and 9 Grunts) (8pts)
Exemplar Errant Officer & Standard Bearer (2pts)
Exemplar Vengers (Leader and 2 Grunts) (7pts)
Knights Exemplar (Leader and 5 Grunts) (5pts)
Eiryss, Angel of Retribution (3pts)
Exemplar Errant Seneschal (2pts)
High Exemplar Gravus (5pts)
High Paladin Dartan Vilmon (3pts)
Paladin of the Order of the Wall (2pts)
Rhupert Carvolo, Piper of Ord (2pts)
Vassal of Menoth (2pts)

Reinforcements

Vanquisher (8pts)
Vassal of Menoth (2pts)

35 Points

Grand Exemplar Kreoss (*6pts)
Reckoner (8pts)
Choir of Menoth (Leader and 3 Grunts) (2pts)
Daughters of the Flame (Leader and 5 Grunts) (5pts)
Exemplar Errants (Leader and 9 Grunts) (8pts)
Exemplar Errant Officer & Standard Bearer (2pts)
Knights Exemplar (Leader and 5 Grunts) (5pts)
Exemplar Errant Seneschal (2pts)

Reinforcements

Exemplar Vengers (Leader and 2 Grunts) (7pts)

Current Focus

During May, June and July I have no tournaments planned, even though the big three (Welsh, Masters and ETC) will all be taking place. However from September it starts to pick up again. In September I have on the 2nd Iron Wrath IV at Maelstrom Games, on the 9th its another Hardcore Heat at Chorley (possibly if Tyler wants to attempt qualifying for the final) and on the 22nd its the London Steamroller Series at Harlow. In October on the 6th & 7th its Scrap Metal VI at Maelstrom Games. In November its Blood and Oil in Leicester and December the Hardcore finals at Maelstrom Games.

So my current focus is to pre-build three 50 & three 35 point lists with character restrictions in mind, also considering the miniatures I can have painted in the next four months. This is with a view of playing all the lists constantly over the coming months, before attending these tournaments at the end of the year. Also every game I play will be with a Steamroller scenario. Hopefully this will improve my tournament playing performance!

So what needs painting? Of course the Exemplar Errants are nearing completion, so after those its the Daughters of the Flame, Nicia, Tear of Vengeance, Exemplar Vengers, Holy Zealots, Monolith Bearer and High Exemplar Gravus. This is a lot of painting to complete in four months, so had better crack on!

April Update

Compared to March when I played twenty six games, I only played a lowly eight games during April. However I did win half of those games.

The painting of the Exemplar Errant is progressing. I should just be able to hit my ten week target for painting this unit.

On the playing side I have built three 50 point lists and three 35 point lists for character restricted Steamroller. These are the lists which I will be playing in tournaments later in the year. I will post these lists in the next couple of weeks.

The big three tournaments (Welsh, Masters and ETC) are coming up over the next couple of months, all of which I am not attending. This has seen a fall in the number of smaller one day tournaments over the next couple of months, so can’t see me attending a tournament any time soon.

I have seen myself rise in the UK rankings for Hordes and Warmachine to 74th. This has been due to the York Grand Slam tournaments being added. However because I am may not be attending any tournaments in the coming months, then I will probably drop down the rankings a little.

Still Painting Exemplar Errants (6 Weeks)

Yes I am still painting the Exemplar Errants, its been six weeks now and not painted anything else but Errants. The base coat on the bodies are almost done, then its onto the base, followed by shading and highlighting. Some how not looking forward to painting thirteen bases with my usual method.

To give myself a break and to stop me going mad, I have made a start on the shields over this weekend with a view to hopefully having these complete. Then next I need to concentrate on the crossbows. So with only four weeks remaining I think I can stick to my original plan and hopefully stay on target.

I did mention that Gravus would be next, however I think the Daughters of the Flame may be next. I have a week off work soon, so may keep Gravus for that week and to have the miniature as a back burner project. Therefore I can paint something different when going mad with my current painting project.
