Painting an Army – The Need for Variety

I have been painting my Warmachine Protectorate of Menoth army now for nearly eight months.  At the moment I am painting Visgoth Juviah Rhoven and Honor Guard, and I have to admit it is getting very tedious.  Painting the same colour scheme on miniature after miniature is starting to bore me.  The next miniature to paint is the Avatar of Menoth, when that is finished I will have a fully painted fifty point army.  Next I was planning on painting a full size Exemplar Errant Unit, with Officer and Standard-Bearer and a Seneschal, thats eleven miniatures all with the same colour scheme that I have been painting for nearly eight months.

I need a break from painting the Protectorate of Menoth, after the Avatar of Menoth is complete I am giving myself a break from painting the army.  Once the Avatar of Menoth is complete I will start painting my Flames of War US 101st Airborne.   Thats a different challenge all together!  One hundred and eight fifteen millimeter scale miniatures with a completely different colour scheme.
